Past Productions: Find Your True Love

The 2022-2023 Barrier-Free Theatre company in Carmel, Indiana had a strong vision for their play. While brainstorming, the idea for a love triangle gained a lot of interest and energy, as well as a wedding getting crashed. These are ideas that were first shared in 2021, when brainstorming for the play that would become World Gone Rocked. Clearly, there were lingering questions about where this story line could take us, so we were happy to pick up that idea and run with it. And we landed on Find Your True Love!

In this story, a bride and groom are excited that it is finally their wedding day. Little do they know, their jealous exes have been plotting to split them apart. During the ceremony, the bride is kidnaped by her ex-boyfriend, assisted by the groom's ex-girlfriend. The ex does his best to convince the bride that she's making a mistake, but the bride is faithful. Meanwhile, the hunt is on as the groom and the wedding party search for the missing bride. In the end, the bride is found, the wedding goes on as planned, and in the end there is even a new relationship or two being formed.

When we discussed romantic relationships with the cast, the majority of them expressed a desire to be in a romantic relationship one day, and that they felt that their family and friends would be supportive of such a relationship. The topic was clearly very important to this group, and we were proud to present it within this story.

Find Your True Love was directed by Sarah Fenster and Deborah Fisher at the Monon Community Center in Carmel, Indiana in 2022-2023.
